Barbara J. Haynes, 78, of Colfax, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Wesley Manor. She was born April 16, 1946, in Paxton, Illinois to Ronald and Benita (Leonard) Conn. She married Jerry Haynes on June 16, 1968, at Onarga Methodist Church, and he survives.
Barbara was a graduate of Onarga High School, class of 1964. She then graduated from St. Mary's Business College. She worked for Adler Zone Center for Mental Health in Urbana, Illinois, Onarga Savings and Loan, and then she and her husband worked together as owners for Jerry Haynes Real Estate and Insurance. She was a member of the Onarga United Methodist Church and active in Onarga Busy Workers as a 4-H leader, Gilman and Onarga Chamber of Commerce, Onarga Women's Club and Home & Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and watching Illinois Fighting Illini Athletics and Chicago Cubs baseball. She loved spending time with her family and especially attending grandkids sporting events.
